A Special Partnership to Support Maui’s Women with Love and Hope

A Story of Hope and Support for Maui’s Women 🌺

At What Makes You Feel Beautiful (WMYFB), we believe in the power of self-love, confidence, and community. For years, we’ve worked tirelessly to support the women and girls of Maui, providing a safe space for them to grow, heal, and thrive. But when the devastating fires tore through our island, leaving so many families displaced and uncertain, our mission became more urgent than ever.

This year, we reached out to the hundreds of families who are part of our organization to see how they were faring. It was heartbreaking to hear so many stories of women and their families still struggling to find stability, still displaced from their homes, and still facing an uncertain future. But amidst this hardship, we also saw resilience, strength, and an unwavering desire to rebuild.

We knew we had to continue doing everything in our power to provide support, not just through our programs but in tangible ways that could make an immediate impact. That’s when a beautiful partnership with Roaming with Carri Kersten Travel Design came to life.

Carri and her team are leading a Hawaiian cruise with a 2-day stop in Maui, and when they learned about the struggles our community is facing, they immediately wanted to help. What happened next has filled us with hope. Carri’s team asked us to reach out to the women we serve, asking them what they needed most—essential items to help ease the daily burdens so many are experiencing. Their goal is to bring as many of these items as possible when they arrive on our island, providing much-needed relief and support to those who need it most.

For us at WMYFB, this partnership means so much more than words can express. It’s a reminder that, even in the darkest of times, kindness and compassion can bring light. It’s a reminder that we are not alone in this journey to rebuild—our community extends far beyond the shores of Maui, and there are people all around the world who are willing to lend a helping hand.

Carri’s generous offer has not only brought hope but has strengthened our resolve to continue providing the programs that are essential to helping women and girls build confidence, self-esteem, and the life skills they need to move forward. Through our workshops and mentorship programs, we’ve seen the incredible transformations that occur when women are given the tools to embrace their worth. And now, thanks to this partnership, we can ensure that these women also receive the physical support they need to navigate these challenging times.

But we can’t do it alone. This is where you come in.

A Story of Resilience:

One of the families we reached out to shared their story with us. The mother, who is a participant in our mentorship program, has been displaced since the fires. She is raising her two teenage daughters on her own, and they’ve been living out of temporary housing, trying to stay hopeful while navigating the uncertainty of their future.

Despite all that she’s been through, this mother told us that the WMYFB workshops and mentorship programs have been a lifeline for her daughters. They’ve found a sense of purpose and confidence that keeps them going, even when things seem tough.

This partnership with Carri’s team couldn’t have come at a better time for this family. The list of essential items they shared included basic necessities that we often take for granted—things like toiletries, clothing, and household supplies. But for them, these items mean the difference between surviving and thriving. They mean a little more peace of mind during an incredibly difficult time.

Thanks to this partnership and the generosity of people like you, this family and others like them will receive the support they so desperately need. It’s stories like these that remind us of the impact we can make when we come together as a community.

We are reaching out to ask for your support as we prepare for a special event taking place on January 19 to provide relief and hope to the women and families of Maui. In addition to monetary donations, we are gratefully accepting in-kind donations, including Walmart, Target, and gas gift cards. Your generous contributions will go directly to those in need, helping to ease their burdens as they rebuild their lives. Every donation, whether big or small, will make a meaningful difference in bringing relief to our resilient community. Thank you for your kindness and support!

Join Us in Making a Difference:

We invite you to be a part of this story. By donating, spreading the word, or simply sharing a message of hope, you can help us bring light to the lives of women who are working to rebuild. Together, we can make a difference. 🌺✨

We’ve also compiled a list of items that families in our community are still in need of, and your in-kind donations can make a significant impact in meeting these essential needs.
