On February 21, 2025, we came together for the MAUI GEMS Girls Day Celebration—an evening designed to nurture self-care, creativity, and connection. The space was open and inviting, ready to welcome girls from Maui County.
The event was filled with engagement, inspiration, and heartfelt moments. The girls who joined us showed up for themselves in a big way, fully embracing a night of reflection, self-expression, and vision-building.
The Highlights
🌟 Vision Board Workshop – Each participant thoughtfully designed a self-care plan, mapping out their personal dreams and goals or the best version of themselves.
🎨 Creative Expression – Through interactive activities and art they created power words and affirmation cards, attendees had space to express themselves freely and authentically.
💡 Self-Care & Mentorship – Led by our MAUI GEMS Coordinator, Laura, and supported by our dedicated volunteers, the evening included meaningful discussions on well-being, personal growth, and confidence. They watched a self-care video that provided valuable insights on the importance of self-care, including practical tips on how to create a personalized self-care routine that nurtures both the mind and body. The video also emphasized the significance of understanding self-care and incorporating it into daily life.
Additionally, they watched A True Love Story in honor of February, which What Makes You Feel Beautiful has designated as Self-Love Month, celebrating the power of self-love and personal well-being.
The space gave us room to explore, move, and create, allowing everyone to fully immerse themselves in the experience. Sometimes, a more intimate gathering leads to deeper conversations and a greater sense of connection, and that’s exactly what unfolded.
